Shift Change

Today we are seeing off two people from our “Team” at Stealth R Us.  Officially, we have two founders and one employee on the books, but we have a few people working as contractors and such to try out or just give us a hand.  One is the S.O. of one of the founders.  She is going back to Vegas because, like myself, has a ton of stuff to deal with there.  The other is going back to his S.O. for a break from us for a bit.  Then tomorrow someone is coming up from southern california so we can give her a try.

So the house is -2 + 1 = -1 people, but I’m still on the futon.  Which is fine!  It motivates me to find a place for me to live out here and get everyone moved up here!

Packed Like Sardines

I “moved” to Palo Alto a couple of weeks ago. All I brought with me was a suitcase and my laptop, which doesn’t matter because I’m working about 15 hours a day, 7 days a week. My housing situation is we are packed 5 deep (It was 6 when my wife visited this weekend) in a house just down the street from our office.  I’m on a futon with my dirty clothes stuffed in a corner of the house.

The only problem with this situation is getting in line for a shower.  I’m no early riser, but waking up and having to wait 45 minutes to clean up and start my walk to the office is getting frustrating.  That is why I decided to start writing on my blog!

Let’s see how long this lasts.

Hurray for Rails 3!

Merb is where I cut my teeth. I love that framework. But now, with Rails 3 being out and everyone saying Merb = Rails 3, I used it for my current project. Without any experience in Rails, I must say the transition was easy. One long tutorial later I was up and running.
